lol no chance. I would pay for a REAL pay-per-month MMO, as opposed to a bad one with a monthly fee.

It depends. If they started charging a fee and used it to upgrade the content then yeah I prolly would. If they chargeed and we got nothing for it then no.

This. There's no hope for GW going anywhere spectacular that's going to make me pay a monthly fee, considering I've most of what I've wanted in PvE, and even if they did a fully supported and balanced PvP, it would be too much of a hassle to get involved with the current state of the game.

No. And no.
I refuse to pay a monthly fee to play any game, cause once I buy it, it's mine, and shouldn't have to pay anything else, period.
The no monthly fee is the only reason that got me in GW in the first place, and if anet would really be in a suicidal mood and implemented them in GW or GW2, they knew they'd lose the majority of their player base.
Also, if I'd pay a fee, I think there are better games other than GW1 at least. Aion has been caughting my eye for a long time now.

If it were 2 years ago and I was just starting; Yes. It would be worth the money to me.
Present day? No. I've completed the major achievements I wanted to obtain. For me it would not be worth a sub.fee to continue. The money would be best served into a subscription game I haven't played.

It depends on how good it is and whether or not it has some lame mandatory grind. If yes then absolutely no.

It would have to look like the best MMO I have ever seen, that there has ever been. So far, for me, none have been worth a monthly fee. There needs to be proper game balance, continual updates, superb gameplay, character development, a dynamic world. There's always a chance I'll go back to paying a monthly fee for an online game, but having taking part in quite a few in the past and always having been disillusioned, it will probably never happen again. None proved worth it.

No. I cant even be bothered to log on now. Where has team PvE play gone? Where has game balance gone? I'm not going to pay to come online and play with AI to grind out titles while I explore new content using the same old gameplay.
Guild Wars was at its best back in Prophecies and Factions days when people played together, when there was a rare trading community, before we had titles, before we had inscriptions, when PvP was still going strong. It was free back then, and it had problems even back then of course. Had it gone pay to play back then and provided more content and more dynamic play while keeping up the community and encouraging team play, I may have paid for it. Certainly not now on the track its gone though. New content or not.

Well, despite the fact that they have expressly said several times that it would not, if it were... it depends
In a few years I'll have a new job and be making a lot more money and should be able to afford to do that. However, if the economy is in the tank then (ie, Great Depression 2.0) I doubt anybody would be paying to play a game.

well, Anet has sold over 5 million copies of all of their games. since there are 3 games and an expansion, some of those 5 million copies belong to the same person/people. let's say that 1 million people are responsible for all 5 million copies. that's 1 million accounts. $10 per account per month is 10 million extra dollars per month that Anet does not have right now. that's an extra 120 million dollars per year. that's a lot of extra cash that Anet can throw at more development, in-game moderators, extra community relations personnel, etc. paying for a game may not make it better for you, personally, but extra money can definitely make a game better.
having said all of that, my answer is no.

Whether or not I would play GW2 does not depend upon whether it has a monthly fee or not. It would depend only upon whether or not I want to play it and whether or not I feel it's worth the money.
If GW2 turns out to be just GW1 (the current, kiddy version) with fancier graphics - I probably won't play it anyway.
On the other hand, I'd prefer a monthly fee for 1 reason I can think of off-hand - It would get rid of a lot of the lame-ass kiddies who just sit around talking about their pee-pees.

Way back at the start of GW, I would have, but not now. Not with the way they've kiddyfied GW and made it into a gee-wiz party animal thing, instead of an real RPG.
My suggestion to NCsoft - make a free-to-play kiddy version of GW2 and a pay-for-play RPG version (call it Guild World ) using the same graphics engine, etc., for those of us who want a real RPG without the WoWee cartoons.

Warhammer Online made me think about it:
Why pay $15, if all MMO's are basically the same.
So the answer is no.
Unless it would provide a serious PvP without the need to GRIND THE HELL OUT OF YOUR CHARACTERS!!! and would be interesting, not a zergfest 100 vs 50.
